Creative Craft Workshop to celebrate the Indian Festival of Holi , Saturday March 6th

Come and Make a colourful costume that swirls as you dance, to mark the Festival of Colour, Holi . It is open to anyone, but children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is part funded by a Lottery “Awards for All” grant; linking creativity, culture, sustainability and community development. FREE 10am until 12 midday.

Come and Make your own Chinese lantern out of tissue and willow , to celebrate the end of the Chinese New Year Festival….. on Saturday February 27th, 10am -12 midday, at Trysordy

Anyone can come along to either workshop at Trysordy in Johnstown; but children under 11 should be accompanied by an adult. The activity is FREE, but if you have a good time, a small donation would be welcome to help cover some of the costs. The activity is part of a year long programme of 26 workshops (organised by Trysordy) for parents and children; that links creativity, sustainable living and cultural education. The programme is part funded by a Lottery “Awards for All” grant.

Trysordy will be participating in this FREE Event along with other not-for-profit and charitable organisations. The purpose is to share ideas for a Christmas that is less money minded, more sutainable and loads of fun….. a place for getting affordable, practical ideas for homemade and recycled decorations and gifts.

SCRAPSTORE OPENING ON FRIDAYS UP TO CHRISTMAS…

From November 1st to Christmas, we will also open on Fridays between 10am and 1pm
The full scrapstore opening hours for this period will be:
Tuesdays        10 am - 5 pm
Thursdays      10 am - 6.30 pm
Friday              10 am - 1 pm
Saturday        10 am – 1 pm

FREE….Make a Dancing Skeleton workshop Saturday October 31st

Trysordy will run a creative workshop making Dancing Skeletons on sticks (Human, Animal or Fantasy Creatures) as well as Skull Paper Chains; on Saturday October 31st, from 10am to 12 midday, at their headquarters in Johnstown. This particular workshop is to celebrate the Mexican Day of the Dead, and will be run by Maggie Fearn and Dani Lees-Smith.

Anyone can come along, but children under 11 should be accompanied by an adult. The Skull Paper Chains activity is most suited to toddlers. The workshop is free, but small donations are welcome to help cover costs. The activity is part of a year long programme of 26 workshops for parents and children; that links creativity, sustainable living and cultural education. The programme is part funded by a Lottery ”Awards for All” grant.
